The Phoenix Polar Bears Squirt A team won their second championship of the season during the 2009 Coyotes Cup tournament. The Polar Bears first squared off against the Jr. Coyotes, winning 3-0. They took on the Firebirds next, winning 9-0. They finished their last qualifying game with a 6-1 win over the IE Runners to land as the top seed in the semi-finals.
The Polar Bears went on to beat the Firebirds 15-3 in the semi-final round and squared off against the Jr. Coyotes for the championship. Strong teamwork with contributions from every line and outstanding goaltending led the Polar Bears to a 10-2 victory. The boys were thrilled with their success and are looking forward to their next tournament in Arvada, Colorado."
